Temporary Dentures
Made in 2 hrs.
The least expensive is ones that can be made on the same day. These are meant to be used as immediately after extractions to enable a patient to eat while bone and gum tissue is healing. After extractions gum tissue tends to swell so permanent molds cannot be taken at this time. While they can be used for extended periods of time they are thick and fragile. The objective is to allow healing of the area and to prepare the area to receive the permanent plates.
Regular Dentures
Made in 5 hrs.
The regular dentures are backed with an acrylic that is thinner and more durable. These dentures can be fitted with a variety of different types of teeth. The cost can vary depending on the type of teeth you may choose. the more expensive teeth will last longer. they are made of a more durable acrylic. Finally the porcelain, although durable and long lasting and more natural looking these type of teeth can be rough on the jaw bones and are not always recommended.
